YI Technology – Pocket-Sized Portal to VR

Capturing immersive content used to mean carrying bulky rigs and navigating complex setups—until we collaborated with Yi Technology to change the game. Together, we designed a VR camera that puts cinematic 360° storytelling into your pocket.

At the heart of this device are dual wide-angle lenses, precisely aligned to record in full stereoscopic VR. Engineered for compatibility with VR headsets, the camera delivers seamless, immersive playback with remarkable clarity and depth. But what truly sets it apart is its form: compact, foldable, and remarkably intuitive.

The rear screen flips forward, transforming into a live-view monitor for effortless self-recording—ideal for creators, vloggers, and explorers capturing VR content on the go. When folded, the camera becomes a slim, pocket-sized object, ready to disappear into a pair of jeans or a jacket without the need for bulky gear or cases.

This project was about more than miniaturization—it was about expanding access to immersive content creation. By combining high-performance optics with an ultra-portable design, we helped bring professional-grade VR recording to the hands (and pockets) of anyone with a vision to share.
