YI Technology – A Drone That Flies Where Others Can’t

In the crowded world of consumer drones, freedom is often limited—not by imagination, but by regulation. That’s where we partnered with Yi Technology to create something different: a mini drone designed to go more places, more easily, and more playfully.

Thanks to its ultra-compact size and lightweight design, this drone slips under many regulatory radars, giving users more flexibility to fly in environments where traditional drones can’t go. Whether indoors, in dense urban settings, or public spaces, it offers a more relaxed, accessible flight experience.

Visually, we designed the black frame as a signature element—a continuous, sculptural line that wraps around the drone like bent metal wire. This lightweight protective frame not only reinforces the structure but gives the drone its instantly recognizable silhouette: minimal, expressive, and technical.

To complete the experience, we extended our design approach to the packaging. The box doubles as a durable carrying case, with custom compartments for the drone and accessories. The surface is embossed with the drone’s technical drawing layout—turning functional packaging into a tactile, graphical object that celebrates the engineering within.

This project merges playful mobility with sharp, purposeful design—proof that small size can still make a bold statement.
